Silver is a natural antimicrobial which kills bacteria, viruses, fungi/yeasts, molds and protozoa parasites to help prevent spoilage. The product shelf life is in excess of one year from the manufacturing date, which is the lot number on the label. So, it will last longer than typical lip balms. If the lip balm seems to have deteriorated due to storage conditions, replace it with new product.
